Unlock the Power of Your Cell Phones

The technology advances in cell phone have brought many new features to average mobile phone users - VoIP, camera cell phone etc.. To differentiate its services from the rest of market, one service provider often offers the best quality in one or a few services. And cell phone users are unfortunately locked to one service provider. To unlcok the power of your cell phones, you’d want to unlcok your mobile phones so that you have the liberty to use the best services from any wireless providers. You may want to do this too if you travel internationally on a regular basis.

GSM and CDMA are two types of common digital mobile phone services. CDMA is used more common in US, but other countries in the world uses primarily or only GSM. Cell phone unlock works only for GSM type of phones. If you have a T-Mobile, Cingular, or M-mode type service with AT&T, then you have GSM service.

Cell phone unlocking is 100% legal since you‘re the owner of the phones and they‘re your personal properties. Most companies do not want you to know this because they want to keep you as customers. There are many different ways for cell phone unlocking. Each cell phone is identified by an unique and specific serial number, and there’s a corresponding cell phone unlock code for each serial number. Many GSM cell phone can be easily unlocked with cell phone unlock codes. There are dozens of websites which offer cell phone unlock codes for $5-$10 each, and the website will help you unlock your mobile phone and switch services. Other types of phones (like the Motorola versions) need extra work. These phones usually have operating software that is hard to crack, so you’re required to connect your phone to another unit. Those services are offered for a very affordable price too.

To test whether your cell phone has been unlocked successfully, the easiest is to take the SIM (subscriber information module) card from another cell phone and see if it works in the one you have unlcoked. If an error is displayed, you‘ll need to do the cell phone unlock again. If it still doesn’t work after this, you may need to send the phone to a company that offers the mobile phone unlocking service. No matter how experienced you are with cell phones, mobile phone unlocking is tremendously painless. To use your cell phone in another country, all you need is a pre-paid SIM card.

Ma Bell Has Come A Long Way!

"Beam me up Scotty - It's Captain Kirk!" Okay, so that isn't exactly what you say into mobile phones. But by the looks of the lot of them, you've got to admit that the cellular phones of today strongly resemble the Star Trek transporter. In fact, this little device is what engineers had in mind when they designed the mobile phones that we currently use. And is it any wonder? These little things do almost everything except exchange molecules!

Through the myriad of mobile phone deals available today, you're bound to find a new millennium device that fits your personality to a tee. Here's a quick run-down of some of the fun you can have right here on Earth:

1. Depending on the service you select, you can find a range of mobile phone deals that grant unlimited calls for a one-time fee. These unlimited calls could be national or international - or they may be granted within a specific time period or day span.

2. For net-heads, almost all mobile phone deals offer email and some even offer internet access - complete with a mini-keyboard and all.

3. Computer users will enjoy how today's mobile phones come with a user-friendly operating system and desktop just like the ones on the average laptop.

4. Interested in swapping pics? You can take photos and exchange pictures easier than you could with even one of the latest, most advanced digital cameras!

5. If you're a movie-buff, you'll certainly enjoy the cellular phones that grant access to Pay-per-View movies, which you can play, pause, and resume for hours at a time or even over a stretch of days.

And let's not forget about audio. Of course, mobile phones exchange audio via voice transfer, but only in this digital age are you able to upload and download entire songs through a phone - and then share them with others!

Yes, we've come a long way from the old rotary phone and what better way to celebrate this arrival than with one of these electronic toys.

A Look Into Mobile Phone Promotional Codes

Some of the major providers like Verizon, Tracphone, Nextel and T-Mobile offer mobile phone promotional codes but require that you sign up for a two-year agreement to take advantage of their mobile phone deals. Even if these mobile phone deals look good, many of these mobile phones do not provide reasonable international rates like a quality Mobile phone calling card will. Along with the binding agreements and the lack of international rates some of these promotional codes are very confusing and are not user friendly.

While we are on the subject of mobile phone promotional codes and calling cards, let’s talk about the benefits of switching from a normal mobile phone contract to a mobile phone calling card with good phone card rates. Below are only a few of many reasons why it may be a good idea to make the switch. Good international rates – With many mobile phone contracts you have to pay quite a lot more just so you can make an international call without emptying your bank account. With mobile phone calling cards this is no longer a problem. They provide very cheap international calls as well as domestic long distance rates.

No contracts – mobile phone contracts can be a real nuisance especially when you find another contract with better rates or service. Switching to a mobile phone calling card eliminates this nuisance. There are no contracts and there is nothing restricting you from switching to another provider if you find better rates or features.

No long distance roaming – When you go on vacation you never think too much about your phone bill. When you return from vacation you may be very reluctant to take a look at the long distance roaming charges for your Mobile phone. Mobile phone calling cards have no roaming charges. In some instances you may actually pay less while on vacation for your long distance International calls.

You may also want to think about the telecom savings you can find online. Many of the great long distance promotions and rates for mobile phone calling cards can be found online rather than at your local retail store. Now that you have learned some of the pros and cons to mobile phone promotional codes and Mobile phone calling cards you can now make an informed decision. Whether you choose the next Mobile phone promotional code you see or not, be sure to keep this valuable information in your head for future reference.

Cell Phone Plans 101

People can have cell phone service with or without a service plan. Most people sign up with a carrier for a certain level of service for which they pay a monthly fee. This package includes certain features, depending on the service level in the contract. They are then locked into this contract for a year or more, and have to pay the monthly fee whether or not they use the minutes or features. Most new customers receive a free or discounted price phone when they sign up with a carrier which is why many end up with complicated phones and features they will never use. Once they sign the contract they are obligated for a year or more. If they break the contract, they incur a penalty. Some of these penalties can be hefty.

Many people object to this kind of contract. If they still want to use a cell phone, they can buy a pre-paid cell phone. In this situation they buy the number of minutes that they want and prepay the amount. Depending on the carrier, they can prepay for thirty to one thousand minutes of phone time. Sometimes this comes in the form of a phone card that specifies the number of minutes on it. When they deplete the number of minutes that they have purchased, the phone just stops working. If the user wants to keep using a prepaid phone, they have to buy more minutes or another phone card. If they don’t want to keep using prepaid service, they can throw out the phone since it won’t work without the prepaid minutes. Prepaid phone service is becoming so popular that many cellular carriers are beginning to offer the service. The advantage of the prepaid cellular phone is there is no contract for a year that results in a penalty if you cancel. With most prepaid plans the user can stop using it by not buying more minutes when his run out. He pays no penalty for not renewing and does not pay monthly service charges for features he does not use. This is one of the reasons for the popularity of these plans.

Because of prepaid cell phones it is possible for people to have cell phone usage without a contract with a carrier and monthly bills. The prepaid charges are higher than the regular carrier contract charges, but for many people it is worth it.

How Can I Fix My Cell Phone - It Got Wet

Ever ran into a body of water with your phone in your pocket?

I have witnessed this many times. It is a common mistake that almost everyone makes at one point in their life. Cell phone manufacturers have gotten so technologically brilliant with their designs that they have made it harder for us to remember that we are carrying their products.

If you are one of the unfortunate and have ruined your cell phone in a body of water I may be able to help. This method has worked for me in the past, but I cannot guarantee it will work for you.

First the phones battery must be removed. Do NOT attempt to power the phone on while it is wet. It will only cause even worse damage.

Once the battery is removed the phone will need to be dried out. If the phone was dropped in salt water, (yes the one who had a little to much to drink and fell overboard cell phone in hand) the salt water must be rinsed out and then proceed to drying. I recommend using compressed air. If no compressed air is on hand then grab a hair dryer and use the cool air to blow out as much water as possible.

After you have blown out as much water as you can you will then want to place your phone in the oven, on 175 F for 4-5 hours. (Remember, don't put the battery in for this step it may be dangerous.)

Once your phone is done cooking take it out and replace the dry battery, if you bought a new battery even better. At this point you may or may not try to power the phone up. I recommend plugging it in to the charger for a while to get a full charge and then power it on.

This works 90% of the time if you catch the phone before its too late. If this doesn't work for you then you can always buy a new cell phone. I run a small web site that has the best deals on the net for the latest phones.

It’s the networks that allow our cell phones to function properly. When a network falters then we lose the calls we are making. These days, this is an unusual occurrence for those who live in, or close to, the cities. However, for people who live in remote areas, this can be a more familiar problem.

Why Mobile Phones Offer Complex Choices

Mobile phone is part of today's fast moving society. If you ever stop for a quick breather and look back 10 years, do not you ever wonder how you managed to live without a mobile phone?

Today, in you are running late for a meeting, no one needs to be in doubt what is holding you or how long it would be before you get there. If train is late, or children need collecting or what ever, people just reach out for their pockets or purses and make a quick phone call. Problem solved.

Because every one wants or needs a mobile phone, lots of companies have entered into the market to provide them with just that. A new industry has sprung up and developed fully in the last 10 years where none existed. Telecommunications industry directly serving consumers with mobile phones is worth billions in most developed countries.

Competition has kept the prices relatively low. Mobile phones are within most peoples' reach, whether you want a mobile phone tariff on a fix term 12 or 18 month contract or on pay as you use terms.

But the competition has increased complexity that often comes when lots of companies are vying for consumer's attention and therefore offering hi or her with lots of choices. For example, there are 7 main mobile phone operators, including Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile. They control their mobile phone frequencies and charge people for the use of the air time. To enable people to do so, they bundle the air time with mobile phones.

With an impressive number of suppliers of mobile phone suppliers, consumer is spoilt for choice. The manufactures of mobile phones include house hold names like Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Motorola and others.

Following the classic marketing, telecommunication companies have divided the consumers into various segments. Examples may be teenagers, early 20s, in their 30s and so on. From experience they know that teenagers' usage of mobile phone is not the same as people in their late 20s and so on. So the package targeted at teenagers may include features that they prefer but exclude what is low on their priority list. Sounds logical, is not it?

It is. But if we also look at how many other segments there are in the market: professionals, travellers, business people, working women, house wives, children, octogenarians and so on. They all have their own requirements. A business person requires a tariff that allows him to call anyone at any time during the day. Some people prefer to socialise by having a long chat after finishing work. And some other people's requirement never goes beyond an occasional 10 second call home to let the other half know that train is running late.

To cater for varied requirements, handset manufacturers have responded by producing phones that cater for these segments.

If you have shopped around for a mobile phone recently, you may have noticed the variety of tariffs and phones. But the complexity is much more complex than this. To entice consumers, phone companies offer inducements like freebies in the form of extra minutes in the first few months, half price line rental, free phone or Bluetooth set and so on. Their affiliates may offer even different and better, deals.

Can you see the complexity one faces when looking for a 'perfect' phone and tariff combination. We did a market survey and estimated that there are more than 20,000 mobile phones deal combinations were available in UK alone at any one time.

Sifting through all these deals for one that suits you best is like looking for a needle in a haystack. There has to be a simple way. That is where TopMobiles4u comes in.

We created a site that can compare most mobile phone deals available in UK in less than 10 seconds. Site does not sell any thing. It just compares the mobile phone tariffs and models according to your requirements and presents well laid out table with phone pictures in under seconds.

I know the UK mobile phone market inside out. Ever increasing choice was getting confusing even for me. What about people who need to buy a mobile phone once in a while?

What Is The Best Pick From The Latest Mobile Phones Available?

It seems as though technology continues unabated. Only a few years ago, a mobile phone meant a plastic brick that you could carry around with you and simply make phone calls with. However, these days the mobile phone has become an all round communication device, with internet access, text, video and picture messaging, digital photography, music and video players, and so much more. Amongst the best of the current batch are the Sony Sony Ericsson K800i, Samsung D900 and Nokia 6233.

The latest phone from Sony Sony Ericsson is absolutely packed with features. Thanks to the 3.2 megapixel Sony cybershot camera with flash, 16x zoom, autofocus, image and video stabilizer and BestPic technology, which lets you capture several images in quick succession with one press, then choose which you want to keep, this is one of the best camera phones available on the market. With the inclusion of an in built Xenon flash, this camera is perfect for taking great quality pictures even under poor lighting conditions. The Sony Ericsson K876i also features Edge, Bluetooth and 3G compatibility for accessing the internet and sharing of your photos and information, alongside a music and video player with FM radio and Memory Stick storage, amongst a series of other facilities.

The Samsung D900 is, at just 13mm, the world’s slimmest sliding phone, and one of a new series of Samsung’s ultra slim mobiles. The D900 is firmly targeted at the business user market, with integrated business features such as a document viewer, as well as a 3.13 megapixel camera, TV-output function, and Bluetooth stereo headset (A2DP) support to enhance the user’s multimedia experience.

The Nokia 6233 is another great 3G phone offering with a high-quality stainless steel finish, and is designed to bridge the gap between business and entertainment. This mobile has a 2 megapixel camera for capturing still and video footage, and up to 2GB of expandable microSD memory. With EDGE speeds of up to 236.8 kbps, combined with Java MIDP 2.0 and Bluetooth API, downloading new applications or games has been made easy, as has the transferring of images, video clips, audio, and other files. The Nokia 6233 also includes a music, FM radio, and video player capable of playing or streaming 3GPP, H.263 video, MPEG-4, and AMR, as well as MP3, MP4, eAAC+ and AAC music files.

Which phone is best for which user, depends on what the mobile is going to be used for most often, as well as which network is required, and what mobile phone deals are available, however each of these three has enough in the way of extras to make them versatile enough to deal most of the requirements which are likely to be thrown at them on a daily basis, it is even possible to make phone calls on them too! It seems that wonders will never cease.

Do You Want The Right Cell Phone Plan For You?

Deciding that you want a cell phone is the easy part. Deciding which cell phone you want, can be a little trickier. But then, you’ll find that you’re going to have to choose a cell phone plan. This can be more than a little confusing and many people end up signing up for a cell phone plan that just isn’t right for them.

Before signing up for any cell phone plan, you’ll find that it’s a good idea to do a little research on the cell phone companies and find out what benefits each company can offer you in contrast to the other cell phone companies. Don’t base your research on their television commercials, but scrutinize each plan and see what other people have had to say about their cell phone plans, are they happy?

Many people end up cursing their cell phone company. The cell phone companies could certainly do more to improve their reputations with their customers. They are recognized for trying to get extra money out of you whenever they can. For instance, when you join a cell phone plan, they allow you a set number of minutes as part of your plan. But if you go over that amount of minutes; then be prepared for some swift charges!

When you find the cell phone plan that seems right for you, then it’s time to decide what extra features you would like your cell phone to have. There are many extra functions available these days, such as text messaging, emails, camera etc. Just make sure it’s something that you can and will use, otherwise you’ll be paying out a little extra for no reason.

Cell phones are a joy for many, cell phone plans usually aren’t. Consider what you want your cell phone for and how much you are likely to use it. When it comes to the amount of minutes you want in your plan. It’s probably wise to get a little more than you think you’ll need; going over the amount of minutes you’re allowed in your plan can be costly!

Fusic to Your Ears

Whether it’s Sprints LG Fusic (fun + music) to your ears or music sweet music from Verizon’s new LG Chocolate phone, it certainly beats the LG900017CXv. Someone is finally starting to use actual brand names that had encouraged some level of original thought, can you believe it? With so many homogeneous wireless carriers and phone manufacturers, each copying the other from advertisements to service offerings in hopes of increasing market share, seems that Korea based LG is trying to make a statement, pose a question or exclaim that someone in the U.S. wireless industry has got to break the mold. In LG’s newest addition to both the Verizon (Chocolate) and Sprint CDMA (Fusic) Family, it seems that LG is being a thought leader and not a thought follower. And they will probably keep exclusive rights to their music branded phones for a while since both Sprint and Verizon use CDMA technology. Over recent years I was beginning to wonder if the CDMA carriers would be the first to exclusively launch something cool that was highly anticipated. My oh my, the times are a changing. What will be next? Maybe a bill in an easy to read format with the correct monthly charges, I suppose we can keep dreaming.

LG decided to go beyond the concept of making consumers wait for the release of a ‘new’ cell phone with a bunch of hype that once launched had all the cool beta testing features removed and ultimately enhanced a single feature or offered a bunch of enhancements to existing features. After all how truly different is a camera with 3.6 megapixels verses one with 3.625 megapixels? But my camera phone has a flash, so hah take that. Instead, LG decided to take the wildly popular music player concept and mix it with a feature rich, intuitively and smart-designed clamshell phone. Mind you it has only been over the past two or three years that the IPOD has grown mass market appeal and become truly iconic but real music connoisseurs know that its evolution dates back to October 2001.

Nevertheless all of the coolest products and concepts in Asia and Europe take about 3-5 years to arrive here in the states (albeit in their stripped down or prohibited format) so as far as I am concerned, LG’s music phone launch is right on time! A wireless company who truly understands the ‘Sign of the Times’….
